About

I am Kartik Vij. For the past year I have been building the AI function at a housing finance NBFC from zero: no team, no roadmap, no precedent. I walked the business, found where hours and money were leaking, and built the systems to stop it. Seven of them are in production, each with a number, and I am now building the team around them.

The work spans lending operations end to end: property title research for the legal team, call analytics for collections and support, cloud cost intelligence, on-device identity checks, document intelligence, a policy assistant inside the loan origination system, and an underwriting assistant that fills forms from the interview itself. Four of them are written up under Work.

I care about the number more than the model. A system that cannot show what it saved, for whom, is not finished.

Before this

I was a founder twice. Too Decimal built Bhugoal, a weather forecasting system for farmers that combined field sensors with machine learning to give hyperlocal predictions. It earned two patents, national innovation awards, and a place as one of two Indian founders invited to pitch at the Global Entrepreneurship Congress in Bahrain in 2019.

Saaspect was a venture studio. It shipped SaaS across pharmacy, construction, legal-tech and logistics, and taught me to run a fifty-person team across development, quality and operations.

I studied computer science at Chitkara University and was incubated at NSRCEL, IIM Bangalore. I live in Gurugram.
